National Institute of Technology M.Tech Review By Deepak Mehta

National Institute of Technology Trichy has kept a lot of tricks up their sleeve as it’s never easy to do M. Tech because the drop out ratio in NIT Trichy M.Tech is higher than that of medical studies. The best part was that the danger of placements is not a danger here because for M. Tech and that too in machines were lesser than the number of chips that you get in a packet of lays. I have seen the live action of how good NIT Tiruchirappalli was as it is the highest ranked NITs and how the college has dictated terms when it comes to academics and placements. The first evidence of academics was seen in the first class itself as it was a piece of absolute genius. At that point, I knew the rhythm and mojo will not just made me a pro in engineering but will help with the job that will suit my profile. So, the purchase at the college was unlimited and it was on students to get the maximum out of it.

I must say as I look over the classes I knew the spell of play will take me far because we used to have more labs and workshops than the classes. There was hardly anything to worry apart from being serious and faculties have done it for a number of years so they knew what and how to make students understand the art. As the semester continued, we picked up and rather than knocking around, we had to try and find the next gear because one just can’t lag behind or struggle with when and how to take on. One has to be ready and make academics the strongest priority for those two years. So, no standing target at NIT Trichy but one has to keep up with what’s being taught on a daily basis.

As a faculty, the only job was not just to come to the class daily but rather they were so beautiful in the way they took classes and labs that they were the most outstanding part of the college. I can be anything but not critical about them in this lifetime. All of them immensely experienced and their teaching attributes were such that a student can never say never to their style of teaching. As I have mentioned in my previous reviews, the faculties here were equally educated but the difference was that the faculties of NIT Trichy knew how to teach the students in the best possible way.

The prominence of placements started when L&T started sending their people to conduct workshops at the campus. There were real big areas at the campus so to set up the work like atmosphere was never tough. During internship with them, they decided to hire me in permanent place and being a part of India’s biggest capital goods company is what I always intended. Just like L&T there were many other engineering companies and capital goods that targeted NIT Trichy Mechanical students and so the placements danger was removed with ease at NIT Trichy.

One thing to beat for is the food part because I shed nearly 7-8 kgs in two years. I was happy with the rooms and other facilities of NIT Trichy hostel but food part needs a redevelopment as I relied on tuck shop chips and biscuits for two years more than the food at the mess. There were quite a few messes but after trying three, I stopped as I knew things with food are over pitched and since the location of the college was such that we couldn’t even have outing to a good restaurant. This is the only part where I felt like my previous hostel was better.

Caressed is what I would say because the infrastructure was so beautiful and the full extension which was spread in 100s of acres had so much of greenery that I could any applause watching such an infrastructure. NIT Trichy Campus might be an old one but from labs to classes everything has been updated here. Even the canteens were so beautifully maintained, it’s just that food was cheap but not edible in my books. For the lover of sports or fitness enthusiasts, the facilities were a belter as there were many sports grounds and weather cleared up for most part of the year so eventually, we could enjoy the playing surfaces for substantial part of the year.

We were trying to rush through because at the back end we knew that the tempo will be high. We never slip backwards as it was a great time to be in conditions where we were challenged daily and couldn’t even see the events most of the time as we were busy doing our things. The think tank of the colleges has done an outstanding job in making everyone at the campus feel home.
