Great Experience at Assam University Silchar

Overall Rating
The environment is supportive, the faculty is knowledgeable, and the opportunities are also quite good. I've grown both personally and professionally, and I'm grateful for the time I've spent here. If you're looking for a place that raise growth, learning, and connection, you've come to the perfect spot. I've been here for 3 incredible years, and I must say that my experience has been amazing. The environment is supportive, the faculty is knowledgeable, and the opportunities are also quite good.
 

Academics Rating
I've chosen B.Pharm at Assam University Silchar due to my interest in Chemistry. For those who love Chemistry specifically, they can choose this instead of pursuing traditional Chemistry honors course. CUET and Non-CUET candidates both are eligible having PCM / PCB in HS. There are 2 sessionals and final exam per semester. Sessionals are of 30marks for theory. Out of 100 marks, 15 marks are for attendance, assignment and teacher-student interaction. This course gives you in hand experience of medicaments.
During my admission fees was Rs. 44,000/- approximately but now it is increased to almost Rs. 70,000/- but there is an on-going protest to decrease it. Each year your fess will increases by Rs. 2000/- to Rs. 3000/-. As of now, there are no discounts given for any category students. NSP scholarship is there, if you get selected you will be given Rs. 80,000/- each year for the duration of 4 years.
 

Faculty Rating
There are 3-4 female professors and rest are male. Faculties are having extensive teaching skills. Many are involved in research and are having industrial experience. Most of them hold Ph.Ds and other higher degrees. Blackboard, PPT and projectors are used in class. Teacher student ratio is also good. Bonding with the faulty members is good. Most of the teachers are from outside of Assam. Teachers are very punctual. They complete the syllabus within time.
 

Hostel Rating
There are 5-6 girls’ hostels and 4-5 boys’ hostels. The hostel food is good too and cleanliness is maintained properly.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus infrastructure of Assam University Silchar is overall good, it is located in Dargakona. Classrooms of our department are average and have a seating capacity of around 50 students. Departmental and central libraries both are available as well as accessible. There are many canteens available. Almost all the departments are having one or two canteens. Health centre is there for medical emergency and transport facilities are provided to students from University’s buses. Security is too good.
 

Campus Rating
Campus is having serene beauty, which makes the campus life great; walking there at night is so peaceful. University crowd is huge. Sports competitions are organized many times, especially in winter. The fest of the University is very happening. ‘AUS-GS Night’ and ‘AUS’Kriti’ are remarkable which are conducted every year. Campus life is overall good, having created ever lasting memories. Cultural events, seminar, concert, workshop makes it abundant with the campus looking even more beautiful at night.

    University is good as there is no unnecessary chaos nearby and it feels soothing. Maybe the infrastructure is nice. I particularly chose Assam University as it was nearby to my hometown.
