IIIT Bangalore has good coding culture. Seniors are very chill and very helpful. There are multiple clubs, events, and activities to keep students engaged. Placements and mentorship are great. The infrastructure is nice and the mess food & gym are too good. Although, they should work on improving students ratio. I was into coding and the job security it offered that’s why I came here. I got into M.Tech ECE program and a sophomore now and it's been absolutely insane journey so far. I got into through JEE mains, you need at least 99 percentile to get in. It's primarily a RESEARCH institute and so an academic rigour is expected and is said so upfront in the offer letter itself. The sheer amount of workload every day is insane. What sets IIITB ( much like IIITD or IIITH ) apart is their insane curriculum and faculty. What other collages normally learn in 3rd or 4th years, we'll be having then starting from 2nd sem. There is a stress given that ECE students must be apt in many CS stuff and vice versa. In this program you will have to take up specialisation (I am aiming for a dual specialisation in ML and VLSI). Placements are insane with median being comparable or higher than many IITs corresponding programs. You can either go into research in which case you'll have to write a thesis under a Professor in your 5th year or thread the traditionally route that 98% of people will chose - industry. The Cultural and Sports atmosphere here is a little dull since most of the student will be really busy most of the days and they use these days as rest days, which is a shame. But academically I collaborate with my peers in IITM, IIT BHU, IIITH, and many other likeminded people in stuff like competitive programming, GSOC, etc. Any applicant who is serious about academics and only academics should must definitely choose this college since the opportunities, exposure, and experience that you'll get is something only very few colleges in India delivers.Read Full Review

IIITB is still an undiscovered place because not many students apply for M. Tech at IIITB. Colleges like Ramaiah Institute of Technology, BMS College of Engineering, and CMR Institute of Technology find more attraction due to their old pedigree. Initially, even I wasn’t sure about IIITB, but thanks to those who forced me to join this college. The college’s flagship program is the integrated B.Tech and M.Tech program, but M.Tech from IIITB holds a great value. The best part of IIITB was that there was nothing like average there. Either the days were shitty or awesome to the blue sky. I was a dull student but left the college as a data dude because the programming I learned here was awesome. One biggest learning that I had at IIITB was that you could have awesome things in life only if you are out of your comfort zone.Read Full Review
