An Honest Review of Punjab Engineering College

Overall Rating
The overall experience for me in this college is outstanding. I have a great time in the college and the learning opportunities are also perfect. This institute has a good reputation and is well-known among top engineering colleges and is ranked among some of the top institutes in terms of college life exposure and campus placements. This inspired me to choose the college and I would greatly recommend it to other students who want a great college to pursue engineering.
 

Academics Rating
The course I opted for is Computer Science and Engineering because of the ever-evolving nature of technology. Admission to the college is through the JEE Mains exam and students have to clear a certain cutoff respective of different courses to get admission in the college. The computer science in this college is taught by some of the top faculties who have excelled in this field and this motivated me to get enrolled in this course.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of the college is highly skilled in their respective fields and is very supportive towards students. The professors are always keen to help students in academics as well as other aspects so that students can get the most out of the course. The faculties have achieved great heights in their respective domains and help students understand the concepts in depth. Their teaching style is also very informative and to the point with respect to the subjects.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a Placement Cell in my institute that provides internships to students in the sixth semester and placements in the seventh semester. The Placement Cell carries extensive workshops and training programs to get students accommodated with the interviews and technical tests which greatly help students to excel in their interviews. The placement rate of the college is very good and some of the top multinational companies come to the college to hire students for different roles.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostels of the college are good but need renovation as some of the rooms in the hostel are not well maintained and don't have an electricity connection which troubles students. The washrooms of the hostels also need regular maintenance. The food provided in the mess in the hostel also doesn't match the quality standards and has affected the health of students sometimes. The college management is working on improving the hostels but the development should be fast-paced.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the college is good and modern. The classes and labs are well-maintained and meet the quality standards. The college management is continuously working on developing the infrastructure of the college and has opened many labs and classes in recent times. The academic blocks are well-maintained and the classrooms are also well-equipped with smart boards and modern technologies.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life of the college is very vibrant and excellent. Various clubs and societies arrange many programs from time to time to engage students and to help them learn many different things and also take part in extracurricular activities. The college organizes a fest every year in which they have cultural and star nights and students take part in various activities to learn new things. The college also encourages sports activities in the college.

    It has been a good experience till now in Punjab Engineering College. I am currently pursuing my UG from Computer Science Engineering from here. I joined this college due its high placements and internship opportunities. It’s a government funded technical institution. The institute is around 100 years old.     The college has a great location and past. It is located in Chandigarh which provides a beautiful surrounding and atmosphere. Being a JEE student, You would always like to have a good college to complete your B.Tech degree. PEC, Chandigarh is considered better than even many NIT's and IIT's which made me choose this college.     The college overall is great. The infrastructure is okay but the environment is good and there is literally zero ragging. The senior junior interaction here is very good and professors are very dedicated towards their work. The college gives a very happy kind of a vibe.
