IIIT Bangalore Faculty Profile

The faculty to student ratio is very good. For every course, we almost have different faculties. They make sure that we understand that subject. The faculty support is very good & you can mail them and ask for help any time. All your doubts will be cleared. They mostly teach using PPTs and group discussions. Most of them are Post-graduated from reputed Institutions. The problem-solving ability of the faculty is excellent. They are knowledgeable in the subject that they teach. The bonding between the students and teacher is good and if you want to work in research, you can approach them. So overall, it’s a solid 8.5/10.Read Full Review

All are Ph.D holders with strong background in research from IIT or foreign University. But I think students need to understand that there is a huge difference between a teacher and a Professor. Of course you can clarify your doubts, (for often with your peers or TAs) but Professors are more interested in how the student approaches a concept and what interesting questions they ask. But their command over the field is UNMATCHED. I first hand witnessed this in my DSA course, where I explained my algorithm to the Professor and he QUICKLY told me for WHAT TYPE OF EDGE CASES, my algorithm fails. Normally to understand a person's idea takes a while since they are just abstract rules. But the guy had spent half his life on this.Read Full Review

Ideally, I shouldn’t be writing names but Sri sir, I just love you. The dedication with which he and other professors backed the students was amazing. Complexity of brain and how to make it sharper were some exercises that professors taught us. Professors here could read students' brains and made us drink the philosophy of engineering better than anybody. It is said that faculty make an institute stronger, and I don’t know about other institutes, but in IIITB, the saying fits perfectly.Read Full Review
