The journey is productive and passionate if you study in VIT Pune. Due to the pandemic, I've missed so much of college life but still the time I have spent in last years has given me a lot more than I could ask for. I am pursuing Industrial Engineering and as of now I am in the third year. Though the starting of the college at first had me all swamped and busy but there is fair share of moments to cherish in VIT. Annual fests, events are the life of the college, as they are celebrated with such enthusiasm amongst students. They really make you connect with each other but the actual journey starts after all this. All your assignments, project group discussions get you hustling to the campus adding more memories and lessons to your life.

The 4 years of Engineering is divided into 8 semesters. Talking about projects, maximum colleges assign you projects from the third year of the engineering. But here in VIT, they assign projects from the 1st year itself. We have minimum 3 projects in each semester accompanied with group discussions and PPT as well. I myself have worked on several projects that were very helpful towards society. The projects like Smart Stick for Blind, Object Falling Robot, and Floor Cleaning Robot. When we started working on the project, with the proper guidance from the professors and a good amount of research made it all possible. The exams are MCQ type and not a single paper of theory we have to give. This type of exam really gives you space to grow.

Except for a few of them, the maximum staff is actually good. Good as in the sense they focus more on practical knowledge than theory. They already have practical experience beforehand and that is really helpful for students during projects. And because of their own experience, their guidance is very helpful for students. The faculty has expertise in qualitative teaching. This has a major contribution in increasing the ratings of the college year by year. The staff helps students with knowledge in the form of PPT, group discussions and other activities.

Every year, nearly 100 companies come to VIT Pune placements. Different companies like mechanical, chemical and electronic based companies come for placements. Some of them are Tata Technologies, Kirloskar Groups, Infosys, Accenture, ADP, John Deere, Texas Instruments, etc. If one gains more of knowledge in his four years, he's very likely to get a placement. The packages these companies offer are satisfying, taking into consideration all the fees you pay in your 4 years. One of my seniors just got a placement in Amazon and the package was also attractive. The number of companies coming for placement has increased over the years.

The college has a hostel but it's too costly. The most important thing is that it is far away from the college and that causes the transport inconvenience to students. I visited the hostel at the start but didn't prefer it due to the cost reasons. The hostel provides three meals everyday and the food is OK. Friends who stay in the hostel tell me that the non-hostelites don't have permission to enter the premises of the hostel. The rooms are spacious enough. The VIT Pune hostel has indoor games facilities and the whole hostel is really neat and tidy, friends admit. VIT Pune Hostel fees vary from Rs. 1.20-1.70 lakhs yearly according to the room.

The negative side of the college is its infrastructure. It's not so big like other colleges in Pune. There are 2 canteens inside the college. To say the food is good but some dishes are costly. So maximum students go to Khaugalli for having lunch as it is near to the college. The library is really nice with enough books and they keep adding to it. But they have space only for 14 students. However there is one hall, if you want to read books or do some work. Students do their project work and discussions there. We have indoor games facilities in college too. The sports ground is really big but is usually used for parking bikes so if you want to play then it's only possible after college timings. College has a gym also but they really need to work on it a bit to make it better. The classrooms are big and spacious. We also have an Auditorium in college. There are many clubs in college, near about 45. I myself am the coordinator of a Social Club and a member of Street Play Club.

The college itself provides a lot of opportunities to its students. The fact that it focuses more on quality and practical education than theory knowledge really helps one to do better when they are placed in the real world. The different events help us to explore our talent and use it in a productive way. The bond between seniors and juniors is great and they help each other in the time of need. With all the events and opportunities, they really make you come out as the best version of yourself. Though the college has its own negatives and positives but the education really makes it all even if you're to focus on that.
