Because of the pandemic, I didn't have to attend college much but the little time I actually spent going there was memorable though. I am studying Information and Technology Engineering. I'm in the second year of my degree. When I entered college, for five months, I didn't talk much with anyone, but after all the activities and group discussions we were assigned, that really made me bond with some of the good friends. VIT makes your learning experience more passionate in many ways. You pay more attention to the actual knowledge than just theory exams. Not to forget that is what makes VIT more popular amongst all the engineering colleges in Pune.

As everyone knows, engineering is 4 years, including two semesters each year. The most important thing and which I like the most is that the staff and the college itself focus more on practical knowledge than theory. They value quality over quantity. Because of this the semester exam is also MCQ type and not the theory one. Most of the colleges assigned projects to the students towards the end of the degree but here we get our projects assigned from the first year of the engineering itself. The teachers also are helpful enough to guide us throughout the project and other curricular activities.

VIT has some of the finest staff of teachers. They are pretty good in whatever field they have. And most importantly, they guide and advice students to get more of a quality and real knowledge than to just follow the textbooks. Most of the staff is experienced so with that experience and guidance they offer, it is very productive for students. The faculty is one of the many reasons that VIT has become one of the very popular colleges of engineering. The staff contributes to the growth of students by engaging them in various curricular activities. The faculty is very helpful. Whenever any of the students need help, they provide the best they can.

Some of the biggest and reputed companies come to VIT every year for placements. Including all the streams like chemical, computer, E&TC, production, information technology, instrumentation and control, mechanical and artificial intelligence and data science. Some of the companies like Imagination Technologies, Atlas Copco, Infosys, ADP, Accenture come for placement. And seniors tell me that if a student does well in his four years of degree, he's 100% guaranteed to land a good placement in reputed companies. With all the good companies that come for placement and attractive packages, if you do well, you are definitely going to be placed in one of them. VIT is one of the most popular colleges for its placements.

I stay in the hostel but to tell you the truth, the hostel is too costly. And it is actually far away from the college that you have to use transport to get to the college from the hostel. Though the hostel is neat and clean and the food there is good but still the fees they take is very high. They provide meals 3 times a day. The rooms are good. The fees vary from room to room. Hostel says to not give entry to non,-hostelites into hostel premises but some of the students or others find their way in. They provide indoor games facilities too.

The college's infrastructure is pretty good but it is a little congested to be honest. Because, like every other college the campus area is not that big. Though it has a sports playground, it won't be available until after college timings to play because during college timings the playground is used to park vehicles. The college has a library and 2 canteens. The food in the canteen is okay but again some dishes are too costly. The college also has a gym but it's not very good. The college has various clubs and committees too. VIT also has an air-conditioned auditorium. The classrooms are also good.

VIT provides many opportunities to flourish the growth of their students. The most blissful thing for every student is that we don't have theory exams so we can explore ourselves in our interested area. The NSS camp, clubs, street plays are there, always adding up to the memories of college life. Basically I missed the annual function due to the pandemic but still the time I spent in college has given me a lot of memories. The staff really adds up to your knowledge and confidence. The bond between senior and junior students is really good once you connect with them. Though college has its negative points but academically it's the best.
