COEP Technological University B.Tech Review By Piyush Mehata

Though I didn't attend college very much because soon after my first year, there came the pandemic due to which we had to attend classes online. But the days I attended regular college, I have a pretty good idea about most of the college. Though now we attend online classes but still the time when we used to do lectures in person was the best time ever. Even if we are in a virtual education system nowadays, college doesn't feel like far away. I still miss the college campus though. Overall, except some of the things, the college is pretty good in its way. COEP has most of the good facilities and resources to shape a student. They are always focused on how to make its students more confident about themselves.

Academically I guess the college can still do better. I study Electrical Engineering at COEP. No doubt the college is reputed and all but still the academically needs some work. The class tests and unit tests they take, they should take it regularly. Though the virtual education that we are having these days also affects it. Even now in long distance learning, we are provided by all kind of academic resources though our college. In COEP, in all 4 years of engineering, we are supposed to be focused more on practical knowledge. And the theory also we cannot ignore completely, it's just that you have to have a certain balance between them both.

The staff at COEP is greatly supportive towards students. They try to help us in any possible way they can in our academics and doubt solving. I have really good relationship with some of the faculty members of my department and they are very helpful. I always had that in me to create a good bond with my teachers, maybe that's what working here. We carried out different projects in our first year that made me confident about myself in academics too. The faculty provides students with different opportunities which expose them to a great depth of knowledge. The staff at COEP holds a certain experience and is supportive whenever a student needs their help.

The COEP is famous for its placements. But in the last few years the placement in COEP has apparently reduced. The faculty takes the responsibility to ready students for the placements. They train students for the recruitment interviews. I have heard from many seniors that the kind of training provides while grooming students for their placement is quite helpful. Because they already have experience by hand so they can really pass that legacy to their students. Many reputed and big companies come to COEP foe placements every year. The placement packages they offer are attractive. But one should really have to work hard if they want to be placed in good company with attractive package.

Hostel is quite good. I took admission in the hostel of COEP; it is near the college itself. I didn't stay for much time in hostel because I have to move out to my home due to the pandemic and lockdowns. But the time I spent in hostel is some of the great time in my hostel life. The hostel has mess facility. Non-hostelites are allowed to enter the hostel premises. Non-hostelites can also join the mess in the hostel. They serve food 4 times a day in the hostel. The food is good to taste. One thing I didn't really like and was really disappointing throughout my stay at the hostel was the hygiene. The hostel is not maintained and they should really focus on that. The hostel doesn't have any entertainment rooms. The rooms in which students stay are also not well maintained and the bedding also is very poor.

The college has amazingly beautiful infrastructure. I love this about the college. The mix of old and new building really gives college some antique vibes. The college has library and that too is full of various books covering different topics. The college has 3 auditorium and all are well maintained. One of the auditoriums is pretty huge though. The college has huge classrooms with all the facilities provided. There's a canteen in COEP, which serves really great food. We used to go there during our class breaks to have some snacks. The college infrastructure is like classics types which I love the most. The memories I've made in the little time spent there are really something I would never forget. With the great infrastructure, no other college can compete with COEP.

Though we are away from the college due to the pandemic but still the time we spent there during our first year of the degree, we made a lot of memories. The COEP campus area is really cheerful. The surrounding gives very positive vibes doesn't really let you feel like you are away from home. In canteen, we used to sit together, all of my friends and have a chat over snacks. In library also, we studied together. The COEP does really provide great resources to its students that stimulates the growth in them, socially, mentally and academically. The campus life has its own adventures and when you study in COEP you have a fare share of that. I always wanted to experience some great experience in my whole college life; COEP has completed some part of my wish. The campus life gives you some hard experiences though the ragging is strictly prohibited in the campus and hostel.
