National Institute of Technology (NIT Durgapur) Review.

Overall Rating
The overall experience as a college student is good for the students of NIT Durgapur. One will get all kind of possible facilities like infrastructure, campus life and exposure in our college. The number of friends you will make here is huge and also you will have a great time with them in hostels.
 

Academics Rating
The overall academics of NIT Durgapur are average. There will be a lot of decent professors for your academic growth in our college. The course of B.Tech is of 4 years and courses like M.Tech, MBA are of 2 years respectively. You have to qualify JEE Mains with a decent rank to get admission in B.Tech and for M.Tech you have to qualify GATE.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of our college is something which is a concern for most of the below average students. You will get a little support from them in the academics if you are not good enough in your studies. Also, the overall marks you will get in each semester is more dependent on your overall appearance in the class among professors.
 

Placement Rating
There is a dedicated CDC which gives opportunity to every student to get placed. Placements are overall good in our college.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel for first 2 years is great with all possible facilities available, but in 3rd and 4th year you will get very old hostel with very bad rooms and also no basic facilities is properly available.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The overall infrastructure of our campus is just great. With all possible kind of facilities available in our campus most of the buildings are new and the classes are comfortable and well air conditioned in new academic building. But in main academic building, the situation is not like that, the classes are old and hot during summers. Apart from this, we have playgrounds, library, canteens, medical unit, etc. in our campus.
 

Campus Rating
The best thing you will get as a student of NIT Durgapur is the campus life itself. You will get a good 187-acre campus with all facilities in it with a decent infrastructure. Overall, from B.Tech, only there are around 3500+ students. The clubs are also there for the interested one to learn and shine. There are two major fests in one year and many more events happen throughout the year.

    My overall Institute experience till now has been good. I chose this Institute as it was the best option which I was getting at the time of JOSAA counseling and also the ECE department of this Institute was very good. I don't think that there is any big difference between this Institute and others. However they are very strict when it comes to ragging.     The institute is situated at Durgapur, West Bengal. It is the 7th-ranked NIT in India and has an NIRF ranking of 44th in the country, according to the 2024 report. According to me, the Institute placement, infrastructure, and faculty are very nice. In addition, I will surely suggest this Institute to my future juniors.     Experienced around 2 years in NIT Durgapur, it was mixture of everything. Starting from taking part in the fests and events and then being a part of the organising committee and I felt extremely grateful.
